I wanted to clarify what this is since many people seem to think this was a perfect DeLorean that was "destroyed" here. The guy who made this (also the guy who made the DeLorean Monster Truck) takes beat up old parts cars and turns them into these projects. So he's actually saving a DeLorean instead of simply

DeLoreans can hit well over 88mph...

I'm absolutely sick and tired of this "heavy panel" myth. Stainless weighs exactly the same as conventional steel... I've held a fender panel up with one finger...

Danny, my policy on the car is I really don't give a damn if you sit in the car (may get a bit stricter on that now that I'm in the process of recovering my seats myself...) That being said, that rule doesn't go into effect if people just plop themselves down without asking. If someone asks me to sit in the car and

In all it's stainless glory

Pet peeve we DeLorean owners have. We go to car shows and 90% of the time leave the doors open because...it's a DeLorean.... Anyhow, most people will take this as an open invitation to sit in the damned car without asking!!! I hate it when the morbidly obese sweaty person gets in and starts flipping switches and

Audi R8 V10

Deloreans only weigh 2300.... Gotta love misinformation

Excellent crash test performance, as the cabin stays perfectly intact, but the entire exterior just kind of folds like paper

Seriously, people don't know how to jump cars properly anymore?

They had a big plan ahead of them. Not only was the DMC-12 on the production line, they were working on a four door version, and a twin turbo that could do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds was almost finished. If they had more time and money, I believe they would have had the staying power to be around today.

This one's a given. Easily one of the most recognizable cars ever made simply because of the gullwing doors.

Why is god angry?

The front and rear fascias on the car are actually not stainless. They are a type of plastic that is painted. (Notice the different color between the steel and the rear fascia)

NOOO! Not steel wool! Make it Scotch Brite pads =) And thanks!

In order to prevent my flimsy garage doors from collapsing in due to the high winds down here on the Maryland shore (and to protect my DeLorean!) I've put a piece of plywood up against the door, put towels over the back of the car (to protect the paint) and backed up against the door. Hopefully this helps!

Gotten mine up to 120! Do remember that for the time, the car was average, not slow. Hell, Camaros with V8s were getting something dismal like 150 horsepower at the same time! For 2 less cylinders, the engine is more reliable, more fuel efficient, and powerful enough

Same thing here. This was my first car-crush and wound up being my first car 5 years ago!
