While QoL improvements and new Pokemon are all well and good, without a reasonable battle mechanic the game just isn’t fun anymore. There is no reason to take on gyms. You don’t get rewarded beyond 10 coins towards IAP. You’re Pokemon should level up from defending gyms. And battles seriously need to be reworked.…

Lots going on in the world of Pokemon GO right now. Interesting to see if it erases some of the animosity long-term players have built, while also bringing back players that have abandoned the game since the initial weeks/months.

Lol while it hasn’t ruined the games for me, I totally agree on the world is ending so let’s do a bunch things for months that has nothing to do with saving it, as weird. If the game is fun I don’t think twice about it. If not, I’ll complain about how it ruins my immersion into the game.
