Being in grad school makes me not feel like a real adult a lot of the time, but hopefully I’ll get there one day. I willingly buy healthy food, so I guess that’s something?

Yep, between the misogyny and racism coming from way too many cops, I just automatically swipe left on cops when I use dating apps. Could they maybe be decent? Do I want to take that chance?
Costa Rica’s my escape plan (mostly because I have dual citizenship). While it could stand to be less socially conservative, I would at least get universal healthcare (including access to contraception to make up for the shitty abortion restrictions, but at least unlike the GOP, they’re actually providing their…
I’ll most likely be there, since at this point, I don’t really have the time/money to get down to DC that weekend.
NYC is also having one, even though I think a lot of people will be going down to DC since it’s not too far away. The one here ends at Trump Tower, I think.
Hmmm, I wonder if this is partly why the yoga studio I go to almost never has us do headstands during class, or if it’s just because the classes tend to be crowded since it’s a donation-based studio.
I made my sister dark chocolate banana bread, because she wanted me to make it and i’m trying to do the whole Christmas gift thing on a grad school budget.
Yeah, like I’m trying to keep an open mind about it, but one of my friends who is Muslim and had soda thrown on her by two Islamaphobic assholes last year is like 90% sure he’s doing a prank and is kind of pissed that he’s potentially taking away credibility from actual victims.
From a public health perspective, we’d probably need something more like the Spanish Flu to get to an apocalyptic level- easy to spread, and with a fairly high mortality rate. Although Zika leads to birth defects, it’s not as fatal as other vector-borne diseases, and isn’t as easily transmitted between humans.
I’m a Rice/MOB alum, and your comment is well-appreciated! =) Except for the whole controversy last year (or the year before, I’m not sure?) when UT athletics tried to charge the MOB a lot to play at the game, for the most part UT and their fans were very nice to us, if only because they knew they’d win the football…
I don’t have any advice, since I’ve never been to Israel, and I also can’t sleep on planes, but have fun!
As someone currently in the midst of grad school finals, I can say that you definitely deserve heaps of praise for getting through all this shit. Congratulations!!!!
Yup. =( I’m really glad that when my mom asked if I wanted her to bring the snow boots I left at my parents’ house when we went to a family thing last week, I didn’t say, “No, I don’t think I’ll need them before Christmas,” like I almost did.
Given that I had to endure a train ride with a bunch of hammered Jets and Patriots fans when I was going back home after Thanksgiving, and that was only like 15 minutes (and a terrible 15 minutes), I have to agree.
I’m in an MPH program right now, and any other year, my classmates and I would be super enthusiastic about applying to government jobs, given how if nothing else, they’re usually extremely secure. Now, we’re kind of like, “how many public health jobs will actually not be cut by the Trump administration? Do we even…
Right? I’m currently listening to Christmas music, but I’m also wearing headphones so that the people I’m studying with (ok, I’m not studying right now, but you get the idea) don’t strangle me.
It better not ruin Lin Manuel Miranda’s chances of EGOTing. And that’s the most I can care about the Oscars...
For a kid’s movie- Did you see Moana yet? I saw it last night, and it was awesome!!!
If you’re into Disney music and/or Lin Manuel Miranda, I really like the music from Moana.
I had one of my aunts ask me if I already had a job lined up for after I finish grad school (which is in May, but like, still, it’s 6 months away), then when I said I was going to worry about that more once winter break starts, because I’m busy with schoolwork and my current job and my thesis, she asked what my thesis…
