I’m getting one next week! So ready for extremely reliable birth control and eventually, hopefully very light/nonexistent periods.

I went to high school in New Jersey, where comprehensive sex ed was required by law, but because I lived in a conservative part of the state, it still managed to be shit. Yes, they taught us about birth control, but pretty much all they did was give us a sheet with different methods on it, briefly went over it, and

If anything, I feel like public health advocates would be in favor of burkinis because they would be better at protecting the wearer from skin cancer than bathing suits, but maybe that’s just me?

Yes, people should learn what the opinions are of those they disagree with, if only to help make their own opinions stronger. However, they don’t need to do that by giving a person they disagree with their time, and honestly, some people’s opinions have no merit, and are just bigoted crap. I don’t need to attend an

Well, I guess it’s good to know that the entire university seems to be disorganized as hell, and not just the public health school? But yeah, the deadlines for the TAs to get all our paperwork in have kept getting pushed back, because the school has been taking so long with getting back to us about who got picked to

Yeah, I wasn’t TAing this past semester, but I had another job through the school, and even just getting on the payroll took forever. I started working in January, got my first paycheck in March. =/ Anyway, I’m TAing for the public health school. Going to be helping TA a class for the first year MPH students. How

I think there’s a possibility that in some cases, even if a speaker is controversial, they should be given a chance to talk, at least if the event they’re speaking at gives the audience a chance to challenge that speaker’s views and ask questions.aHowever, schools also need to acknowledge that they are not required to

Right?! Like, we’re the ones getting accused of being overly sensitive, yet we’re not the ones throwing hissy fits when people accuse of us being racist/sexist/etc.

I figured as such, but this is good to hear! I’m a grad student worker at Columbia, and I’m really hoping those of us in support of unionizing will be able to make sure the administration won’t confuse the other student employees who aren’t as aware about what unionizing means into voting against it.

I’m a grad student at Columbia, and will be TAing this semester despite how disorganized everything is and how shitty TAs have been treated in the past, mostly because I knew that with so many people fighting for the union, we could probably make the working conditions better this year. But yeah, I’ve heard so many

Heh, I only have the one, but now I know she isn’t the only one who says “bloobs.” =P

Are you my sister?! She also calls them bloobs.

Right?! My sister’s career goals- I like math and money, so I’ll be a rich investment banker!

I went to Houston earlier this year for an alumni thing at my undergrad, and I visited one of my college roommate’s apartments and it was so nice and so big, and her rent is probably at least $200-300 less a month than what I pay, and I live in one of the cheaper neighborhoods in New York.

This is me, or will be me after I graduate! Meanwhile, my little sister is buying a condo in Boston next year, because she’s an investment banker and that’s actually a realistic option for her. =(

At my office, we have three single stall bathrooms, two of which are gendered and one of which is gender neutral, but honestly, they should make them all gender neutral since everyone ignores the signs and just uses whichever bathroom is free.

I got a babka ice cream sandwich! Not much of a brag, but it was delicious! Also walked around the city a hell of a lot today since it wasn't disgustingly hot and humid out for the first time in awhile.

NYC jezzies and anyone who lives nearby! I want to try to organize a hangout in the near future for anyone who wants to meet their internet friends in person! Who’s interested and what weekends may work for you? Also, suggestions on a place? I was thinking maybe a park, but please suggest anything.

I’m supposed to meet a friend from high school who i haven’t seen/talked to in forever for her birthday and her little sister is also friends with my little sister. Originally the way our sisters made it sound, the four of us were going to hang out in the city and catch up, but actually my friend spent the entire day
