My go to single-serving cheap meal is quinoa with green beans mixed in after you cook the quinoa, or whatever vegetable you prefer, and then either a can of tuna and some Sricha or a packet of Thai chili tuna.

Umm, let’s see, what did I do this week? Um, I went to two free salsa dancing events this week and learned some new moves. I even managed to not completely fuck up with New York style salsa, which of course, has to have a completely different basic step than all the other styles. Also, I’ve managed to adjust my sleep

Yes, there are people who live in bubbles, but they should really get out of them well before becoming a US senator.

As a person who used to live in Houston and now lives in New York, I will say that yes, the heat and humidity is much worse in Houston than New York. However, because of that, it’s pretty much a guarantee that most buildings in Houston have AC already installed, whereas in New York, if you want AC in your apartment,

I already have at least one, hardcore socialist friend who’s pretty much like, “Well now that Bernie pretty much lost, I suddenly realize that I don’t actually like him, because he doesn’t go far enough with his socialism.” Meanwhile, said person spent a good portion of the past few months shit-talking any of our

I watched the press conference where his wife talked about the murder while his oldest son broke down sobbing and that was horrible enough to watch. That poor family. Wtf America.

I feel like a good portion of my master of public health curriculum is learning that everything that’s enjoyable is probably slowly killing you. And then continuing to consume those things anyway, just with the added knowledge that they’re probably giving me cancer.

I love baking, but I haven’t done it that much recently. I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to bring to a party a few weeks ago, but other than that, nothing lately.

Considering how addicted to caffeine I am, I would be freaking the fuck out. Stay strong!

I live in nyc too, but i’m currently on a bus to DC for an impromptu trip with some friends. I’ll probably be back in New York in time for fireworks and one of the friends who’ll be coming back from DC with me has rooftop access at her apartment.

I feel like I really haven’t accomplished much this week. Um, Hari Kondabolu liked one of my Tweets, which, isn’t that big of an accomplishment, but I still thought it was cool. :P

I’m surprised that didn’t happen to me in Finland. When I was in Poland, where people were mostly white, but not all of them were blonde, I got so many comments on how pretty my darker complexion was (even though I’m a very much white-passing Latina to the point where my sister joked about not inviting me to her

I will say that at least the nursing students are actually getting shit done and tangibly helping people, unlike say, Christian missionaries who maybe sometimes build a school and maybe do some minor health outreach, but mostly just care about converting people. However, given how it can be all too easy to fall into

No, because that means he has to be dead first, and I don’t want that.

Just subscribed to it! I’m going to check out this and “Politically Reactive” tonight while I wait for my laptop to dry off and hopefully not die.

Lol, yes, I probably will stay and fight since my current career path (public health, specifically sexual health) is essentially fighting with the man to make healthcare more accessible to people and a Trump presidency will just make that even more important, though more difficult.

First thing that came to my mind, even though I’m terrible and just learned that Hari Kondabolu exists a week ago. However, I am becoming more and more grateful that I have dual citizenship in Costa Rica. I probably won’t actually move there (sorry abuelita), but it’s nice to know I have options?

So, my dad got me a “college application coach” while I was applying to schools, because it was a service he got for free through work, though unlike Jia’s clients, I actually wrote my own essays and just got feedback on them that I could decide whether or not to listen to. My supplemental essay for Middlebury was

I got waitlisted at Stanford and the valedictorian at my high school got flat out rejected, and I heard rumors that he claimed that the only reason I had a better chance of getting in than him was because I was a Latina and a girl. Granted, he did have a higher GPA, obviously, but my grades still put me in the top 10

I think I generally prefer paper books over ebooks, but at the same time, I’m also the kind of person who tries to bring like 10 books on a trip, so ebooks are definitely good when I want to have a lot of books at my disposal, but don’t want to carry all of those books with me in paper form. I tend to go back and
