I once played peek-a-boo with a toddler on his way home from DisneyWorld (I live in FL and was flying out of Orlando). He also told me in adorable babble-speak all about Mickey and his new ears. It was the best flight experience I’ve ever had.

That was even the plot of an episode of “Better Off Ted”.
If this book is anywhere near as good as her last (which I’m sure it is), I’ll need to grab a copy. The Caribbean and its history is barely even touched on in US classrooms but she actually does it justice.
As a vegetarian, I don’t use/wear either, but at least leather comes from cows that were killed for people to eat. Mink, fox, and rabbit are grown only for fur and the waste of animal lives bothers me so much more when they’re not even used for sustenance. The rabbits raised for fur are different breeds and ages from…
My rule of thumb is that camping is only acceptable is the restaurant is half-full or less, so that there are plenty of spare tables in each section, no one is waiting to use your table, and you make sure to tip both of the waitstaff is there’s a shift change.
When the bf and I eventually get married, I want us to have the same name. Don’t much care which it is- he wants to change his first name to the one he’s been using socially for years, I told him he may as well get both done at once.
TBH, if it was unseasoned, I don’t see why that couldn’t work as a savory dish- like a Monte Cristo sandwich. I put cinnamon and vanilla into my egg/cream mixture, so that would be a horrifying monstrosity.
We needed less of this, more Spongebob.
He’s got a Ph.D, so that means student loans, at least from undergrad. At the very least, I hope he gets to pay off that albatross around his neck.
We had a question in CCD once that asked us how we would act if Christians were being persecuted in our hometown, in response to some stories about the martyrs. The “correct” answer was some form of protest or fighting back. I said that I’d move to the next town over, and I don’t think the teacher approved.
I actually went through a fairly religious phase as a young teenager (rough family life had me wanting some sense of control/outside help), but my mom noped me out of CCD once they started talking about “retreats” for confirmation classes. She refused to let me go anywhere where the priest was the sole adult…
I’m not sure how the pricing compares to Costco, and there are fewer overall products available, but boxed is an app/website where you can buy in bulk, get free delivery for orders over $50, and there’s no membership fee. I mainly use it for antibacterial wipes, paper products, and seltzer.

When meat-eaters cut back on the other 70-75% of soy consumption they take in via animals raised for meat, I’ll worry about that.
Right? I stopped eating meat for ethical and environmental reasons, that doesn’t mean I don’t miss chicken nuggets!
I’ve been veggie for 10 years and my first Beyond Burger was unsettling. But they’re so good! I’m even starting to see restaurants offer them, and it’s so great to have options. Black beans patties are tolerable, anything mushroom-based tends to be much more to my taste, but these beef-like veggie burgers are just…
I was thinking about that as I read this!
I went to a STEM-focused school that acquired a football team (full of idiots who couldn’t pass actual STEM classes and mostly went into a newly-created “sports management” major) and us nerds resented the hell out of it. Clearly the university president was more focused on trying to get alumni dollars via football…
I hope there’s at least one adult looking out for him. I had a trans girl student pick me as the teacher to come out to after a lesson on genetics in which I said that XX:female and XY:male were typical, but exceptions abound and gender/sex is complicated.
I had a similar problem with my 8th grade English teacher. Almost failed me for using big words in a persuasive paper and my English lit major/pursuing a masters in education mother had to intervene.
As much as I’d love to see a reduction in health disparities, I would definitely be concerned about licensure. I’m getting to the age where many of my friends are having babies, and doulas can be very supportive and affirming, especially for women who don’t have a lot of experienced female family members around to…
