I'm on the same boat as you but if they handle it doesn't matter if it's AWD or FWD, as long as the end goal is the same. I'm looking at it from a handling perspective.

Exactly! I know there's extra breaking force, I can feel it but ABS kicks in and I'm useless. It's great for summer but I have a feeling most cars don't do winter ABS testing and calibration. Or I'm driving too many cars without brake force distro.
Technically, speed has never killed anyone. It's coming to a sudden stop that kills you.
I live in a place where it can snow 7-8 months out of the year and while ABS greatly helps normal drivers to turn and hopefully avoid an accident, ABS tuning on most cars are pretty bad a usually makes you misjudge your braking distance.

Hydraulic steering. I just drove the new 2015 WRX STI, which has hydraulic steering, unlike the WRX's new electric rack.
