No. You already proved yourself wrong with your own definition. Now you’re just embarrassing yourself by trying to argue against literally the last thing you posted.

It’s your definition. It doesn’t say a reduction of effort, it says “minimal human assistance.”

Automation is the technology by which a process or procedure is performed with minimal human assistance.”

As far as I’m aware, no automated firearm has ever killed anyone. Only human operated firearms have. If you have an example that proves otherwise please share it.

Yes.  Both involve significant human interaction to get a bullet down range.

Ok, I’ll give you the gas chambers but if that’s where we have to go to find an example of bad automation than I think were’re going to be fine automating cars.

Do automatic firearms perform with minimal human assistance? No they don’t.

Automatic is not automated. Find one instance where AUTOMATION has caused fatalities to increase.

It looks like you put a lot of effort into that article but it’s completely stupid. Any task that I can think of has gotten vastly safer the more automated it has become. Automation in elevators has made them much safer. Automation in machinery has made them much safer. Automation in aircraft has made them much safer.

During the last recession Honda tried shifting their product mix towards low priced cars and it failed miserably as the market actually moved towards higher optioned and higher priced cars.  Those buyers were less sensitive to economic conditions.

Lidar has a longer range than headlights.

Unless you’re willing to wait several decades for your infrastructure to be invented then built, yes, you need a Mars rover to take you to the grocery store.

Humans are also shit at driving.

No, I don’t idle my car with the doors open but I do idle trucks with the tailgate down.  I don’t see why this could be confusing.

Tesla invents the mid-cycle refresh! Brilliant! Musk is a genius!

“You can only buy the $35,000 Model 3 at a Tesla dealer, also we’re closing all of the dealerships.

You can tell David Tracy has given up on his hair and nobody felt the need to comment about it.
