Exactly, this is why we can’t have nice things. You can’t even do something good without someone complaining.

It’s been more than a couple of years, gas prices haven’t been high for almost a decade and look to be staying low for the foreseeable future.
They’re not launching at $35k, they’re launching at $44k with a $35k model to be released at some indeterminate point in the future.
They will also tell you x dollars as equiped. I don’t think Tesla’s broken any rules since they haven’t technically been advertising the model 3 but there will definitely be sticker shock in the showroom.
Fast charging doesn’t use the onboard charger, it’s DC not AC and utility service is only a limiting factor in homes. With many new homes being built with 400a service that’s less of a limiting factor, with 3 phase 480v commercial power it’s not a limiting factor at all.
I didn’t confuse the terms, I called it a charger because that is the name that is in common use and what the manufacturers call it. The SAE J1772 standard supports up to 90kw recharging, it’s not a limiting factor.
I don’t see 6.6kw chargers for home use as a problem, if you’re charging at home you probably have the time it takes to let it charge. Fast chargers will be for commercial locations with three phase power. There are still issues at the utility level for making sure adequate power is available.
The 12v feed, among other things, charges the battery for the emergency breakaway switch which activates the trailer brakes if the trailer becomes disconnected.
The UK isn’t banning anything. They are just announcing a ban now to virtue signal to their population while actually doing nothing for the environment. In 23 years, if there is demand from their constituents, they will start a series of temporary extensions because they are politicians. It’s all just political…
1/3 of new car sales are leases and for luxury brands it’s more then half. If Tesla can’t convert half their deposits to sales, that’s Tesla’s problem.
One of the big problems is people who are leasing their current cars. If you’re unsure of when the Model 3 is coming what do you do until it arrives. I think uncertainty will be a big factor in Tesla’s conversion rate from pre-orders to sales.
I remember Ford had a big recall on column mounted shifters showing that they were in park when they were not. Something about the cable losing adjustment.
The Fiesta ST and Focus ST are meant to be the cheap performance cars now.
Everything is better with T-tops.
They picked driver safety, that’s why they went with the halo over a windshield. A fighter jet cockpit is 2-3 times wider then a F1 cockpit and fighter jet canopies still significantly distort your vision. The Red Bull windshield had terrible visibility. Look at this image and compare the guys hands in the…
Cross over steering isn’t that difficult and has got to be cheaper than that mess of pivots. Why is it that manufacturer try to make steering linkages more complicated than they need to be?
The halo actually had better visibility, in addition to being stronger, that’s why they went with it over the windshield.
All curved windshields distort your vision, most of them are large enough that the curve is gentle and only has minor distortion. F1 cockpits are so narrow and the curvature so severe that a windshield is like looking through a coke bottle.
