No offense here, but this conspiracy theory storyline here is almost as bad as MAGA-lands kind of defense. And if anything it’s helping them because we call them crazy when they are formulating some sort of alleged conspiracy.  So what does that make this?

That’s the point.  You had an actual crime committed against you (unfortunately, also glad you won!).  There are people that think being the victim means getting sympathy.  So he wants all of that “good feeling” without actually being a victim.

I don’t know which part about this story annoys me the most. The fact that this sets back actual victims of hate crimes back? The fact that is gives the MAGA base a leg to stand on? The fact that we still won’t learn to stop jumping to conclusions and get let down yet again?

The major issue with everything is the media reporting. Instead of reporting on actual racism in our country (which is not that hard), they report and blow up any story involving “race”, which might as well be any and everything. This story? This was gold to them.

I mean we do need to have a real discussion about race in this country. We also need to be able to let people speak about some of the racist shit they’ve thought and not be stoned to death. But this? This isn’t the way to try to tell people to have that conversation.

Simple, because they help him personally and I’m sure he has some close friends there. It’s easy to look past certain things you don’t necessarily agree with when you have support from people close to you.
