Except you don't drive a car for the purpose of hurting someone. That's why driving is legal and assault is a crime.

I agree, and I wish I hand an answer, but I don't think that dangerous vigilante justice is it.

Concern troll? Did I accidentally say that she was carrying unhealthy extra pounds while punching him?

I can't applaud this. Of course the guy was wrong, and of course he deserves legal recourse for threatening rape, but she could have killed him.

I hate The Notebook. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling are great, but everything else about it is awful. It is the worst. THE WORST! That's not how dementia works! That's not how swans work! AAARRRGGHHH!!!

I've always wondered (in my weird, conspiracy-prone brain) if Katie taking the alleged 5 year/5 million contract with Tom actually had something to do with getting herself and her then-unborn child away from Chris Klein.

Don't be silly. If that was true I wouldn't have seen it in the first place. And why shouldn't you see it? It's a problem. It should be addressed.

Jez: The above comment is a perfect example of why the new commenting system is no good.

Look, America. As far as other nations are concerned you're like that loud, obnoxious family member who makes us roll our eyes, but who we can't help loving anyway because you're so darn feisty and you mostly mean well.

Word. I could not agree more. Children's physical education constantly links physical activity with competition, as though they were one and the same, but it's a cultural connection, not an inherent one. Sports are great, but educators need to realize focusing on them exclusively leaves a lot of kids behind.

But is it really appropriation when it sounds like this? I mean, it's not like she's doing a horrifying Snoop Dogg impression or anything. It's earnestly meant, it reflects her own experience, and yeah, that slow, lyrical sound is kind of distinctive. I don't like it much, but I give it a pass.

Look, it's 2012. White kids rap now. They're not going to stop, and they're developing their own distinctive style in the process. I'm not saying we shouldn't call it out when it sucks (and this isn't great), but can we get over the fact that it exists?

I have a job that requires me to go to a different elementary school every day, a practice that has required my body to develop an Olympian immune system.

There's something about Courtney that makes me think she's a lot smarter and more self-aware than she lets on. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I really hope not.

There's an interesting parallel between this and Xiaxue, an English-language Singaporean blogger who's huge in Asia.

Who carries a gun and/or bullets in their purse? What benefit could possibly outweigh the risk?

BUT WHAT ABOUT THAT BABY'S RIGHT TO DRINK IT FROM A 32oz CUP??!!
