Of course. Dystopian fiction, particularly in the sci-fi genre, always requires some measure of suspension of disbelief, but in the end we get some very unique and interesting examinations of humanity and psychology. Think about The Matrix and how many components of the premise that makes you think to yourself “Wait a

If you haven’t yet seen it, I can say without reservation that they convinced me. It definitely isn’t a cash grab, and the final product shows that Villeneuve not only understood the original, but also loved and respected it. As sequels go, I don’t think we could have asked for a better treatment of the source

Training takes time, money, and effort, and doesn’t necessarily guarantee results. If you could vat grow employees that were guaranteed to have a specific skill level, corporations would be all over that, assuming they performed favorably in a cost/benefit analysis. Granted we don’t know what they actually cost but we

BOOOOOOOO!

OH MY GOD, I simultaneously need to have this and absolutely do not want to have to watch it. I still have PTSD from actually playing the game, let alone the experience of seeing it in “real life”.

Makes more sense than sending a human with the exact same characteristics, who’s death would represent a loss of training time and manpower versus a disposable replicant who they could implant the skills of a Blade Runner into and send them on their way.

Also, having a replicant on Earth would mean that they wouldn’t w

Deckard as replicant learns how to embrace life by being forced to take it from those who dared to live. That would seem to be a wonderfully ironic turn.

Plus killing replicants is a dangerous business. It only makes sense that in order to catch a mechanical mouse, you’d use a mechanical cat.

To be fair, there may be a lot of Blade Runner fans out there who expected it to suck, and didn’t take the chance to go see it until they heard otherwise. I was terrified that they were exploiting the legacy of one of the most iconic films ever made for a cheap cash grab, and was pleasantly surprised. I have a feeling

Ship em to me. I’ll take them off your hands. :P

I noticed

Heck, for all we know, Discovery might not even be one of them.

I have an Honors degree in English, and work as a Project Executive for a major American company, and I find Rick and Morty brilliant. Among the dozen or so of my friends who like it (only one of which smokes weed), all are intelligent motivated people who understand that absurdist humor can work on multiple levels.

Lena Headey will be available again soon. Just saying.

Anyone, really. Its cool here.

They could do worse than being called “Canadian”.

Yeah, typically they acknowledge it at the top of the post, but it looks like the notice was added after the fact. “Good” news is that you’re not the only one; my inbox is getting lit up today.

That message is older, and refers to the picture created two years ago.

I don’t think that photo was in the original version that I commented on, two years ago.

Could be, but bear in mind that my original post was from two years ago when this article was originally posted, and it was since updated with new pictures/video, so I have no frame of reference for my original statement. Looks like they’ve made some improvements since then, though.
