Not remotely to the same degree as they did on other consoles, and they certainly didn’t sell as well. Support for the Wii dried up quick, and never really manifested on the Wii U as a result.

Actually, more like System Shock to me, but I get your point. It might be good, but it wasn’t the game I was waiting for for certain.
No Johnny Cash fueled alien bounty hunting, no sale.
That’s the point. You didn’t have a choice in the matter. Its the lesson that Sony learned with the PS3; third party relations is what makes or breaks a system.
I never said that the Wii was a failure, just that it’s underpowered architecture was a massive roadblock for third party support. Had the Wii (or the Wii U) had comparable power to the consoles of its generation, they could have been an unstoppable juggernaut with the Nintendo catalogue and proper third party…
Not sure how much they made considering that most of that money was hardware, a few first party games and shovelware. Once the motion control fad died down, the Wii quickly became a footnote.
The trick is to innovate in such a way that it doesn’t create hurdles for third party developers to put their game on your system. If the Wii U was more powerful at the time of release, on par with the PS4 and Xbox One, then they would have made a killing. Instead, they essentially released a 7th generation console,…
Turns out I had a little bit of repressed Marcy Long resentment there. Whoooooo....... feels better. :)
Right, perhaps I should have qualified that as quality third party support, rather than “shovelware” intended to make use of the then-unique movement controls. Nothing that would move units long term, though.
It absolutely has before. The Wii had limited third party support, since it was weaker than the Xbox 360 / PS3, and ports would have to be severely downgraded or built from the ground up to run on them. The WiiU got some late ports from the Xbox 360 / PS3 era, but they too were too late with the Xbox One / PS4 on the…
Right, it’s not like the player’s character had a loved one murdered right in front of them... oh wait, that’s right. Not to mention a son who’s current status is “complicated”. And in the middle of looking for their son and seeking revenge, the player took time out of their busy schedule to save Marcy Goddamn Long’s…
Not sure how he got up there, but it’s going to cost him 65 Schmeckles to get down.
Its only paranoia if they aren’t out to get you.
If I got rid of all of the cc emails, I’m sure my total would be cut to a fifth the size, but there’s no way I can safely mark them as read and ignore them en masse.
I feel your pain. Sometimes you just lose track when you have 2000 unread emails in your inbox.
Expected, and yet it still hurts.
Jason, maybe you can answer this. Why the hell haven’t we seen another proper Suikoden since the surprisingly decent Suikoden V? Is Konami literally run by the Devil?
Just press X like every other game. :P
