You have an open world game with free flowing missions that you can pick up and turn in at will. They demonstrate free running sequences, verticality, multiple weapons, and a hint of the conspiracy at the heart of the game. All of that was represented in the trailer.

If you’d watched the trailer continuously for the

You’re assuming I don’t think the same thing about both companies. Sony does not get a pass on this either.

What you’re sensing is a guy who should have waited three years to buy

I’m not moving the goalposts at all, I’m saying it isn’t an equivalent argument. People are moving away from rapid iterations of a single product that offer a marginally incremental improvement in capability, so saying that it’s no worse than how iPhones work doesn’t prove a point.

HDTVs have been around since the 1970s, throughout multiple console life cycles. The first 4k TV was released in 2003. Waiting three more years wouldn’t cripple anyone’s brand.

The last console generation was 7 years, the last year of which the new consoles were announced and in the public eye. It’s been 2.5 years, in

Having lots of products doesn’t guarantee adoption at the same rate. Quite the opposite in fact.

PC resolutions have been steadily increasing. Console standards have been driven by product adoption. There have been no quantum leaps in television technology in the past three years that would prompt an entirely new iteration on a console.

And again, that’s why they’re not replacing them as often anymore.

duplicate post.

Technology has always been moving quickly. This is not a new situation. Consoles have always been underpowered compared to PC hardware at the time of release. A four year cycle puts the consoles as shorter than the Sega Saturn and/or Dreamcast. That’s significantly shorter than they should be.

Again, this is true. You’re also seeing people replace their cell phones less frequently as a result. This supports my point, if it’s relevant at all.

This is a true statement. So you’re seeing people not do it as often anymore. This supports my point, if it’s relevant at all.

Still not an equivalent argument.

They could do a lot of things. They don’t yet.

And if anyone bought a Wii U, they’d probably be pissed too. There’s 20 million of us by comparison, most of us who bought into their bullshit of the necessity of the Kinect driving the price up at launch.
