The PS4 fan doesn't make noise at all. Its quieter than the PS3 was. I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but it's inaccurate.

So again, why is the Xbox One not significantly cooler if it has a larger fan, a larger casing for ventilation and an external power supply?

Even a hand on the console will give you the same information. If they're the same temperature, then why is that the case if the Xbox One has a massive fan, a larger case, and an external power supply?

You are wrong. The measurements were done with a thermal camera coming from the body of the device (and at several stages of the system's operation) rather than just the exhaust.

No sorry, these tests were taken with a thermal camera of the body itself not the vents. The Xbox One's definitely generating more heat. It might be moving it out faster with the fan, but that's because it has to. If that giant fan dies, the system will be not long for this world. And I wouldn't float a word like

Well let's say you're right for the sake of argument. Don't you think that with an internal power supply, a sleek design, and a smaller fan, that the PS4 should be quite a bit hotter than a console with a massive fan, a huge external power brick, and plenty of room for ventilation? Logically if everything were equal,

Funny story, the PS4 is actually running cooler than the Xbox One even with it's internal power supply, smaller fan, and sleek design.

You can find more pictures of the teardown here, along with descriptions of what some of the pieces that make up an Xbox One actually are. For now, it's worth noting that the console features a 2.5 inch SATA II drive—while replacing that means voiding the warranty, there's no telling if the Xbox One will even

Thank you sir. Progress is slow, but I'm in it for the long haul.

I don't need validation of any kind. I refuse to let a sweeping statement like "It's no secret that the Vita is a flop" pass, made as though it were such a established fact that it didn't even warrant discussion. I'm not angry about anything, nor need a fanboy handholding, I merely challenged the poorly constructed

Actual defective statistics were 30% at minimum, based on actual polling data from multiple sources during the heyday of the RRoD issue. That's still significantly more than PS3 or PS4 even came close to at any point.

Its hardly pointless if I reject the premise of the article.

Why does that make sense? Are you short of HDMI connections on your television? The native input source management of your television should be more than adequate to the task without requiring you to run a whole other console just to pass through the signal, wasting power and causing wear to the system that you're not

Sure, but a 50% bump is a lot more statistically relevant than a 0.4% bump.

Wouldn't want to... play an Xbox One?

You sir are completely off the mark. The very first line in the article, the very first line, is "It's no secret that the Vita is a flop" as though the point were so widely accepted that it bore no further discussion. I took issue with this, and responded accordingly. At this point I'd like to know what your point is,

See, the Atari Jaguar was a flop. That's not my point here.

That Jason was ready to call the Vita a flop, but not the WiiU. Which was what my entire comment was centered on.

Stetsons are cool.
