So instagram makes a video app now? Sorry to be an ass, this was actually a great video and I definitely enjoyed it, but really the film grain/hue/saturation etc killed the video quality. Next time just leave out the effects or minimize them a little more.

Me likey, if they sold this under VW's name in the US, I would be tempted to buy one (probably second hand in reality) but that doesn't change the fact that it looks like a great little hatch.

"Look ma, NO HANDS!"

Those headers are sweet! I'd love to put this in a shopping cart or some such far too light weight chassis, it's so cute too.

Love Mazdarati, totally stealing that.

I think my problem with "donks" in general is the fact that I just don't like big wheels and small tires. Half of the wheel and tire choice for me is in the wheel to sidewall ratio, the bulge of the tire etc. The limit for me generally goes like this; pre 50's, 15 inch, maybe 16 inch max wheel diameter. 50's-70's,

This reminds me of the time when my moms old beater's horn got stuck on. My dad, being the parking lot mechanic of my childhood, ran into the house and apeared seconds later with a box of electrical equipment. He then proceded to wire up an indoor light switch into the steering wheel complete with the large white

Well this is just my best guess, but I don't think that's play. He's constantly correcting for the road surface conditions. With wet gravel and dirt roads there is a lot less grip (obviously). Driving at those speeds on that surface in a car that is lightened, and had its suspension and power worked, the vehicle is

Wow, the base 5 speed coupe weighs 2035 pounds. So your race echo (lol) is three quarters of a ton, thats nuts.

Cancel all other plans you may have had today, I must have video proof of this. My moms dd is an 01 echo 5 speed base model. No power anything, it weights absolutely nothing and is nippy as a result. I've taken to saying ricers around town with it, can't even imagine a bi turbo 2JZ...

You guys should add in a vote for which of the two cars jalopnik thinks is the better deal. Similar to how NPoCP works.

Ah that's a good point I hadn't thought of. At least it's a lot easier to replace the front/rear valence, hood, headlight buckets, quarter extensions and trunk lid with original pieces than it is to undo a chopped and channeled 32 ford. Small comfort I know, but still.

I don't get why people get all upset about an "Eleanor" clone. I've watched both movies multiple times. Neither of them are great, lets be honest, so don't get upset when someone wants to clone a movie car and chooses the remake Gone In Sixty Seconds, over of the original. Also, the 67-68 generation car is better

Totally agree. I drive down Broadway almost every day, very boring indeed. If I had my own Boston/Cambridge race track, it would include Memorial drive, Sturrow/Soldiers Field, the Mass Ave bridge, and if I could transport the tail end of Huron Ave, I would tack it on somewhere in between.

While I can't comment on any other choices in the top ten, I'm going to disagree with you on #7. I bought a 67 Coupe as my first car about a year and a half ago. I bought her as a solid driver, recently rebuilt engine and transmission, absolutely no rust in the floor boards or frame with an easy 8' paint job and peach

Lotus. All day, every day. The Ferrari would be cool, but the lotus is 6 grand less, much sexier, and it's got the proper transmission for a sports car.

Good point, they had a video before this where they tested a little, like, 2.0 liter NA engine, and they didn't find any noticeable improvement in power. However they didn't test any larger engines that need more air flow like 3+l displacement 6 or 8 cylinder cars.

I've seen every Mightycarmods episode they've made. They're totally into making power and wouldn't lie about CAI not resulting in any reasonable power gains. Also the insurance company they're sponsored by let people do pretty much what ever they want in terms of modification. Or maybe I've just been brainwashed by

That's another great shot. $900, that's a steal. How long have you had him?

That was simply awesome to read. That is the bond I want to have with my car 30 years down the road.
