I see what you're saying. Honestly, I think if there is a bad guy here it's the agency that created the ad, and presumably leaked it. It's a bad thing for Dominos, bringing lots of negative attention to the brand. On the other hand, it makes the ad company look 'edgy' and somebody might call them if they're into

I'm confused by your post. From your source:

Hey, what happened to all those people swearing up and down that they would have to replace the whole bed? Show of hands?

I could honestly care less about the China thing. My Volvo has been dead since at least the Ford takeover. Turns out getting pumped for tech then left for dead has a detrimental effect on a company :(

In gif form :)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The depreciation is well deserved, imo. Volvos were 'evolved' into fast, luxurious machines. Those tend to do poorly in the used market. The strong resale values of yore came from qualities that the new cars lack.

Bingo. I love Volvos. I've had a handful of 240s, and I love them dearly. The thing is, they weren't really expensive cars. My last one had crank windows, manual door locks, manual steering and cloth seats. Originally, it didn't even have a tach.... on a stick shift car. What made it great was that it was a

Wait, is this John V, or are you accusing him of owning that car?

Ford and Alcoa *did* just do a giant program to train up shops on how to do this stuff, so.... yes? There really, seriously isn't anything magical about welding aluminum.

This, right here. CD players sucked too much in 1994 to just install one in the dash.

I remember 1994. That port is to plug in your CD player.

So we save Buick by giving them a badge engineered car from another division? What could go wrong?

It was heavier and more flexible than a contemporary hatch. Kind of the opposite of a real CRX.

The total lack of effort to hide the actual, non-weird exhaust tips?

What I don't understand is why everybody is acting like this is the barn find of the millennium. These cars have been massacred to keep them moving with no access to real parts. Aside from fixing one up for the sheer kitsch value, it's not like these will be easy resto candidates. These cars have been patched,

It's a pushrod v8, so the heads are small(ish) and the motor is relatively compact. Alternatives like a Coyote are much larger, harder to fit. LS can be had in aluminum to.

I like where you're going, and it picked M5 for me, which is certainly on my short list. My suggestion would be to switch to an older model for the picture. If you answer all the questions about letting your freak flag fly, you probably like the M5 more the older it is.

That's a '32. Small as those are, they're tanks next to an MG.

Wut? I'm guessing you've never stood next to an MG? The SBC barely fits, can't run side covers at all from the looks of it. DOHC motors are gigantic. The heads of a Coyote motor would stick out the sides and above the hood. Go look at one in real life, motor or car.
