No one has been killed by a cyclist in nearly a decade.

Move to LA, dickwad.

How do you define danger? Nearly a dozen people have been killed by cars in NYC this month, and we've got 10 days to go. Are you proposing we ban cars?

There are two kinds of fourteen-year-olds in this world: One Direction fans, and William H. Macy fans. The line is clearly drawn.

I was going to say it just looks like lighting to me.

I wish there was someone writing for Jezebel who actually had a basic understanding of photography and the process of retouching because no, they just balanced the whites.

Jeez, liberals, make up your mind. First you're whining about minorities being underrepresented, then, when someone finally makes an ad representing the underprivileged minority population at Howard you get all up in arms...

agreed. but i just don't see what the big deal is or why this is being turned into another gender war thing. i've had to ask women to remove their purse from the seat next to them so i could sit down as well. and to be honest, i've been the woman with the purse on the seat next to me as well, though i always remove my

Actually, I removed all emotion from the argument and focused entirely on causes and effects. I can see how that could be confused with trolling though. ....

The woman who runs this blog apparently views men taking up more than one seat of space at any time regardless of circumstances as waging some kind of subconscious gender warfare on women who (legitimate point, this) are taught from day one to shrink into themselves rather than assert their presence anywhere.

Only because you deem it so. The consequence of inconveniencing others is exactly the same. In fact, the person who chooses to spread out is capable of accommodating people around him. The other has no choice but to be an inconvenience.

Taking up more than an allotted amount of space on a crowded plane: Perfectly fine if you are fat.

I usually look for the one seat that's not available because some dude is sitting like that, and figure I'll take it to make a point and not take one of the few other empty seats. So I march over and loudly say "excuse me" and just start sitting down. Dudes move. It helps that I'm kinda skinny, so I can squeeze in to

So... I am a woman, and I frequently take up multiple seats on the Metro. In fact, I usually try to get into the seats that are perpendicular to the wall with the wall-parallel seats right in front of them, so that I put my feet up in front of me and put my bag next to me. That's right, I take up THREE seats.

No, with this wonderful thing called the internets, everyone deserves to be publicly shamed in front of the entire globe for something that might be the teeniest bit bothersome to one person. Progress! Technology!

Yup. I just say "Excuse me" and start sitting down before they can respond. Move your coat/leg/bag, dude, or my ass will be upon it and you won't like it. I've gotten a few sighs of contempt, but mostly I think men don't even realize the amount of room they're taking up. I like reminding them that they should be just

This is what bothers me about these blogs. I fully and wholeheartedly support the message that it's not cool to take up more space than you have to when space is at a premium. But on many of these photos, the cars are half empty. On the photo above, there are clearly open seats right there in the frame. It dilutes

If you're going to take pictures of people without their consent, the very least you can do is blur out their faces.

There were so many of these men on the trains in my last city. I would just sit down on the seat they're taking up anyway. Eventually the descent of my ass would make him move his leg. Or I'd say "is this seat taken?" The response to which is always a dumbfounded look or "no", so I'd start to sit, repeating process

I was thinking the same thing. If anything, her blog now just seems to be postings of the messages she gets.
