everything I do in the Xbone UI seems like it has to load twice, occasionally tells me that I don't have the app required to snap my friends list, and freezes when I try to modify friend statuses
Huh. Starting to think you're the one with faulty hardware, actually...
The Xbox One OS feels more responsive to me now than it used to. The PS4's was initially quite snappy, then began to slow down and feels good again. I used to prefer the PS4 UI but I'm finding the Xbox One is serving me better the more stuff I download to the console. The pinning stuff helps.
sorry, but has to be said. NO, just no. I have no idea what you are talking about. mine zips between screens quickly and smothly. switching between tv, and digital titles is seemless, and while I do have the occasional quirk, I have yet to have any problems getting to my friends list or games, even when offline.
I appreciate the article, but it's clear the PS4 has not yet come into it's own (and I base that on exactly what you wrote): The X1, however, has been *killing* it.
I own both a PS4 and an Xbox One. I haven't found a reason to turn on the Playstation in months (it just sits there under its ever present cloak of dust with its dim yellow glow) and play my One damned near every day. There is literally not one exclusive I want to play on Sonys side and I'm enjoying the hell out of…

Wow.
Exclusive content is one thing. Charging $20 for the same DLC pack, while stripping out parts of it, is another beast entirely. Compare to a CoD/BF map pack that's timed to a certain console: no one is getting charged for things they can't have.
Meanwhile latest news from a parallel universe:
I really enjoy this bullcrap suggesting MS is the only console maker who pays out for exclusive or beneficial treatment. Sony does it all the time, don't kid yourself.
yep. Sony PS4 is a mystery. Shoddy OS and infrastructure. Okay service. No real game. Slightly faster than competition (compare to xbox one). Competing business model within its own company (i.e. streaming service, etc.). And yet, people look at PS4 and they think its better than Xbox one b/c it is....have no…
I think it's the case on a global scale, really.
I have never cared about my gamer score across XBLive, only my Halo ranking. The only way I would care is if Microsoft gave me rewards like free downloads for map packs or memberships.
Good thing you can just ignore it if you don't like it.

LoL don't start that KIREEK, you'll rile up the poor babies ;)
It'll be best when it runs on the PC though. HARDY HAR HAR. :)
Wow you are so cool, "the wrong console". Someone is mad that the ps4 has no games, stop trying to justify your purchase you 12 year old. (btw I only have a ps4)
Well this works out. I was going to get an X1 next Friday as long as everything I've seen of Destiny pans out (as in, the reaction online is mostly positive). Now I don't even have to buy Destiny.
It's too bad that when Microsoft said they were going to have this feature as standard for EVERY GAME people thought it was the apocalypse....
