It’s more “overpriced Mustang” than it is any E-series BMW. Explain to me why I’d buy this warty lump of electric-steer BMW instead of a used manual-transmission Aston DBS or a Ferrari California T?

You can see the Mercedes’ stability control working from the high-frequency/low-amplitude wiggling. But without better mechanical grip to work with, it can’t quite keep the car straight.
I think he *does* see himself as only moderately powerful. Remember that there are levels here: Bezos is an order of magnitude richer and significantly more networked. Murdoch can get a goddamn President elected in two, if not three, countries. Musk is the leader of a money-losing and embattled company. He knows his…
I would love to see Musk turn his single-minded focus and vast resources to ridding the Internet of neo-Nazis. He might save us all.
Yeah, this. He’s biting the hand that feeds him.
C’mon now. It was plainly clear that he was referring to the phrase “powerful people” in the tweet to which he was responding. It was also clear that he meant that literally and that it was not a dog whistle. A guy like Musk should not be expected to know the coded language of every bunch of malignant fuckos on…
Tomica did a version too. I think it’s white, and I think I still have it. If I succeed in turning my niece into a car person, she’ll get it.
I wish they made a 16”, but 17s aren’t too harsh on Porsche 964s and 993s. I suspect that’s the target market. They’d work well on a Porsche 944 too.
Try disconnecting the TPS and see if the behavior changes. If not, that’s what’s borked. Do the same with the AFM. I’d also look at the oil temp sensor to see if it might be throwing a false reading that prompts the engine computer to feed the wrong mix. A 964 will happily run in 120-degree temps all day long if it’s…

We really need to know Fancy Kristen’s preferred config.
Timely, as my baby momma just bought a Matrix. There were remarkably few cars that fit her requirements: small enough to park in NYC, hatchback with a big enough backseat for a rear-facing seat for a 5-year old, good on gas, but safe and reliable, under $10k.
^^^^ this.
These are hot doughnuts.
Tires are *vastly* better. Aero is actually worse, because of rules changes. The 919 is a flat-bottom car, while the 956/962 had huge sucker venturis under the car.
Not nearly enough to buy a Ford GT. Unlike kidneys, they’re not making any more Ford GT’s.
I once thought that a formula like 24 Hours of Lemons was better: Specify a budget limit, and make the rest of the formula unlimited except for safety. But watching how quickly the expense of Lemons racing has ratcheted up, that doesn’t work.
They’re profitable in Europe by doing the more labor-intensive manufacturing steps in Poland, Portugal, Romania, etc.
That’s what Touaregs used to cost. And about what you’d pay for an Audi or Porsche SUV that’s two sizes smaller.
Wheels can be changed out, but this car looks too bulbous, and too tall for its length. For a car that *most* buyers will buy based on style, it’s not looking promising.
