FYI I am educated in STEM with a few years of work in my field (biochemistry, currently working with a lab analyzing arctic bacteria isolates for medical and industrial applications). Humanities and Arts are not useless. They hold our civilization together, and they have have the task of documenting and maintaining

Yeah its not like cultural trends push girls out of mathematics or anything.

Did you just "not all men" a Disney movie based on a fairy tale? How on earth can you find a way to take that personally? Amazing...

By the way, voting rights were originally held by land owners. You see back when the colonies were formed the most important thing a man could do was own property. Later on, when the Industrial Revolution become a thing, property rights became less important and white men who didn't own property were given the right

You're so stupid, and wrong it's appalling. Seriously. Are you purposely twisting historical facts and realities to fit your agenda or are you seriously this fucking ignorant?

males who commit suicide for not having the income to provide the necessary alimony. So I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Most of that doesn't contradict what I said. Note my last sentence. I am actually against male circumcision. But, you're drawing a false equivalency, still. FGC extends beyond matters of consent - it is a gendered act of violence with major with certain negative effects that are nearly universally agreed upon. Both do

Really? I was under the impression that male circumcision involved removal of the foreskin. When did it become amputation of the penis and testicles and then sewing the gaping wound over what is left of the urethra?

FGM Type II, the most common kind, is more equivalent to cutting the entire head of the penis off than simply the foreskin. Types III and IV are more invasive than that. So, stop with the false equivalencies.

Not having to be drafted.

Or it's a way for them to acknowledge their own culpability or participation in oppressive structures, and examine their own attitudes and work on changing them when necessary.

The Wa Po headline wasn't satire. It was serious. Satire is only satire if you don't believe actually believe what you are saying. Also, role reversal is a flawed analogy because men are the privileged gender. This headline in no way threatens the privileged status of men.

It's funny how you've been so "socially indoctrinated to never hit women" and you're "systematically told not to hit women" WHY DO YOU KEEP HITTING WOMEN?

#notallmen Look, sweetums, we know this already. You boys seriously need to grow the fuck up and stop whining every. single. fucking. time. a woman posts about the reality we live in that it's Not All Men. We Fucking KNOW THAT. Better than you do.

Dude. She did the same thing that they did to prove a point. She's not serious; it's satire. She's taking a ludicrous stance based on a small slice of data that could be interpreted many ways. Just like the WaPo douches did. The whole point is to comment on their analytical approach—not on any actual identifiable

It's pretty absurd to think you can measure psychological abuse (ETA for statistical purposes, anyhow).

Here comes Captain Literal to demonstrate the dangers of being unaware of satire!

It's almost as if there's some sort of thinking that envisions women as weak and men who are hurt by women as even weaker! The kind of thinking that might be described as patriarchal. Funny, that.

Girls are taught not to hit men, because it could get them killed.

Did you have a problem with the original WaPo headline? Which literally says that all women would would be safer married? Or do you only have a problem when ridiculous generalizations are made about men?
