Equating someone you don't like getting a teacher to make you be friends with them, and women being hugely underrepresented in certain areas of entertainment because of deep-rooted sexist ideas (despite women being capable and interesting enough for that type of TV), in turn causing these outdated ideas to prevail...?

I've noticed more trolls around these parts lately, I think it's some MRA reddit/4chan "women-are-so-lame-let's-prove-it-to-them" group.

Ha ha ha.... If you really believe that you're an idiot. Go back to your mom's basement and cry your little MRA tears. Bye.

"NERRRR! Just make one yourself!" is a really stupid, ignorant answer to "Why didn't they include women in the first place, when there are tonnes of women who could take part?" Get that massive chip off your shoulder and that fedora off your head.

The nuanced idea of media critique escapes you, doesn't it?

You can't get a show like this made for women. I know a fair amount about the industry and execs and networks do not want to put women in these roles, nor do they want to finance shows in which women are survivalists. The view is that the market they're trying to attract is men, and men would rather watch men do these

Ah. Yes, OK, I get where you're going wrong. Listen carefully now.

Really? That's your link to support the idea that men have a greater sex drive than women? A 250 word blurb on WebMD that sites a couple of self-report studies on how much men and women think about/want sex?

He's probably too busy writing the NAACP to ask why they won't help white people and asking his gay friends why they never put on any straight pride events.

Oh honey, looks like you need to read up a little on what patriarchy is, exactly, and how it works.

Well, this site is targeted towards women and women's issues. Most spaces in the media are far more oriented towards men and the things that they care about and are effected by. "Women's issues" have always been a bit undervalued and that's why we need to create our own spaces to discuss them, which of course makes

I'm extremely sympathetic to men's issues, since I believe the patriarchy oppresses us all — men and women. What I have trouble with is men coming into a woman-centric space and complaining that they aren't getting enough time and attention. It would be like me going onto Menshealth.com and complaining that they don't

Which is exactly why it's so mystifying that there aren't more male feminists willing to participate in this kind of activism. You might want to give this a read, I think you may find it illuminating:

I'm saying that it's a site that's geared to women, and that therefore its main concern is not men's issues. Perhaps you should harangue some men's health sites about why they don't put out more articles on men and eating disorders.

Like "TCTWO" said... this is a site primarily focused on issues of interest to women, I wouldn't say there's any duty to cover men's issues in any sort of indepth way (and I don't think the post in question was meant to give lip service to men's health issues... it could've been written a little better, but one could

Huh. You'd think this site wasn't up front about being a site specializing in women's issues.

Oh wait...

"Clue: only women get pregnant."

Sigh. I am saying that the problem is that our society is set up so that a woman has more to lose. That is what is wrong. And unless you're using this pouch as your birth control, then no, I also never said my preference was for people to go without birth control.

I don't even know where to start with this. Maybe with the idea that "Relax" is never a good argument?

That isn't really comparable, seeing as boobs didn't start growing on you at puberty. You will never have to pluck or shave off your boobs to be considered manly, so you won't have to deal with painful ingrown boobs or feel that your sexual partner finds you repulsive because you have 5 o'clock boob shadow. No one is
