Same boat. I just jumped through a flaming hoop of doom to keep my unlimited data and use my upgrade for Verizon. I wish I didn't have to, but it's totally worth it.

well, having a glitchy rom isn't really a concern as you can just flash a recovery. It's bricking that I'm really concerned about.
