A review from someone who approaches the genre blind is about as valid as a review from someone who sucks the genre’s dick, actually. And at least the former has the advantage of freshness. There are a million identical horror fan reviews on youtube, go knock yourself out with that “valid” content.

I don’t believe objectivity exists at all. While in many situations one would want to strive to be objective (especially when it comes to science, news, politics etc) it’s still an impossibility. Like perfection, it doesn’t exist but you can reach for it and there is always room for improvement.

I don’t think you know what reviewing is if you think a person should be ‘objective’ when reviewing something.
