That is the problem. It’s a lot more nicotine than regular cigarettes. The kids are then really addicted.
It’s not just vaping in the bathroom that’s a problem but vaping anywhere in schools including classrooms.

I’ve been on some form of the pill for close to thirty years now, so I’m going to counter anecdata with anecdata ;-). I love the damn thing. After going on the pill, my PMS symptoms lessened, my migraines were more controllable, and, oh yeah, I could almost completely dismiss the worry about getting pregnant thanks to

the bias in/general lack of research is a vital issue that I sincerely hope I am not taking away from here!

You’re saying the school administration, which cannot possibly test every vape pen for weed, employs a blanket solution to stop kids from performing an illegal activity and this is somehow not the right solution because kids on suspension will still smoke at home? So they should just do nothing and let kids vape? I

Honestly, I feel the opposite? I feel more color to my world when I’m on birth control than off. I take it bc I have heavy painful periods and reduce the amount I have. My periods take a lot out of me so reducing them has made a big improvement

As someone who recently nearly died likely because of my birth control pill at the ripe old age of 29 (hello, pulmonary embolism), I find the woo-woo concerns about hormonal birth control really frustrating. I had originally gone on birth control to modulate my extreme depressive swings around my period (in addition

The thing that really annoys me is that they refer to “The Pill” as though there is only one hormonal birth control option out there and it’s this giant monolithic EVERYONE’S EXPERIENCES ARE THE SAME.

At least this thing is less harmful than what it used to be.

My school did random testing for nicotine (for students playing sports) back in the 90's... I never realized that was even a newsworthy thing.

If you think public schools are alone in not respecting students and having insane and restrictive clothing and appearance rules, you’ve lost your mind.  All schools are like this, not just public schools.

There have not been ZERO studies - there have been a couple small studies (here’s one) that found that vaping worsened indoor air quality, specifically by increasing the concentration of nicotine and other compounds that are known to contribute to heart/lung disease and cancer. Here’s a longer article with more

“What are my negatives? Well, I would say that my mansions are actually too cheap!”

I work for a huge IT company in the Pharma sector. We don’t drug test anyone. We employ over 200,000 people. Drug testing is very common in almost every type of job, but some companies just don’t do it. If we tested everyone tomorrow, we’d have a lot fewer employees.

I’m a high school teacher in Toronto and the vaping is pretty out of control in my school. While I absolutely don’t condone testing students, we are struggling with how best to convey that vaping indoors is inappropriate and bad for their health. It’s worrying to me that smoking was becoming a non-issue in schools

You’re completely wrong, every job I’ve held has required a drug testing for their employees.  This included banks, and financial companies, all very much white collar.

I agree with all of that but want to offer the minor correction that they definitely do drug test LOADS of white collar jobs, and it definitely sucks in those jobs just as much. If you want to have a joint off work hours, legal or not, that ought to be your own business.

So...it’s wrong to do take measures to stop kids from vaping.

That topic has been done, a lot. I’d for sure read a Jez piece on it, but there’s a ton of great investigative pieces on the true scams that MLMs are. The Dream podcast is a great example, and Samantha Bee just did a piece on them. I’ve read pieces from Washington Post, Medium, Bloomberg, etc.

Damp toilet paper? Please keep that to yourself.
