Xenogears, still what I consider the best JRPG story I’ve ever played. I think could be wonderfully improved by modern graphics, mechanics, and live up to the storytelling it deserved past Disc 1 when it was rushed to move staff to FFVIII.

I always considered the Mr. T thing he has going being an act he put on trying to personify a hardened leader going after Shinra for what they did to his life. After the run in with Dyne I remember him being far more subdued and a better leader when he steps up again later in the game.
