Just listen to Cerny conference it’s well explained. It needs to have 12 channels (normal drive use 4), the same data rate or more (no PCIe 3.0 can reach that) and a maximum TBD height.
No they will not. 3.0 drives will not be able to match the speed required of the new system. Cerny himself stated this much in that they would have to certify NVMe PCIe 4.0 drives for functionality. While we do not know what Xbox will sell their proprietary solution for PCIe 4.0 drives are around $200 for 1TB for the…
Incorrect. Cerny himself said that it will have to be a PCIe 4.0 M.2 drive and not just any 4.0 drive will work. It will have to meet specific specs to be compatible with their controller’s speeds. The Xbox’s solution is considerably more user friendly, assuming that they do not price gouge on their storage.
“Sony hasn’t released an official compatibility list, but I would imagine that the majority of off-the-shelf NVMe SSDs, like Samsung’s 970 Evo or Adata’s XPG would work, assuming Sony isn’t doing anything funky with the expansion slot.”
There’s just some bad information in this article. Neither of those drives would…
Most interesting aspect of the PS5 storage to me is the custom I/O hardware (!! Not software) AMD/Sony developed to handle data transfer from storage, removing the CPU bottleneck and freeing it up, in theory, to focus on game performance. There are lots of specialized industrial tasks that would seem to benefit from…
The first couple paragraphs are a little misleading. The GPUs aren't "roughly the same" the ps5's GPU only has 36 Compute Units while the Series X has 52. Also the PS5 when its GPU is maxed (meaning the CPU has been downclocked) is 10.2 TFs the sustained performance of the Series X is 12.115 TFLOPs huge difference.
But the question becomes - is there a practical benefit at having the PS5’s 5.5 gb/s transfer rate vs XBSX’s 2.4 gb/s? Is anything actually going to bottleneck at 2.4 gb/s, or it the differential just future-proofing? Because I would expect that both will feel lightning fast compared to the HDD storage in current…
And even if it’s not, this is a launch title (probably) that is being optimized for what? Four different console variations? When have launch titles ever been indicative of what a console is really capable of?
i think its funny they offer free movies when in all reality us plex users.. we have ALL the movies.. ;) but hey, more content is never a bad thing!! my plex library makes amazon and netflix looks like a mom and pa vhs rental shop in a gas station. ;)
The offbeat spirit of that show isn’t a bad template. I think they are probably going for a little wider, broader demographic; it only lasted two seasons...Although I read it is really popular in other countries!
Years ago I had a family member spend a very long time in an ICU, and my experience was that most doctors are better than this, but some are so busy or in their own heads they don’t even realize how they sound.
I mean, there are hundreds of fanfics where that does indeed happen.
They’ll never top Wonder Showzen.
“she needed to put something up on TikTok that day”
Good thing Is, it's available on home video!
I would describe that as a you problem.
I’m an outlier, and I know this. I’m the person that would love an Avengers movie where they don’t fight anyone and just talk for a couple hours, or a She-Hulk movie that’s a legitimate legal drama, and not a few fight scenes with some law stuff sprinkled throughout. I want the $50 million Batman movie where he just…
We really are just gonna let that whole choke slam thing slide, eh?
