They're fairly active in Boston—they hit all the campus bulletin boards twice a semester with their "The TRUTH about PSYCHIATRY!" pamphlets, which usually last about thirty minutes before they're torn up and thrown away, and they sometimes fight the Jehovah's Witnesses for prime pamphleteering space on our pathetic

Have a read of Tony Ortega's blog, www.tonyortega.org - he is the most respected journalist on this subject, which is a fascinating one. Most people are aware of Scientology as a wacky belief system (and it is) but the real story is the scandalous way the Church of Scientology behaves. You could not make this shit up;

Visit Clearwater anytime... theyre everywhere. They own the entire town. You can tell who the underlings are... they all look exactly alike and wander around downtown between buildings with huge sets of keys hanging from their beltloops.. they wont speak, look at you, or otherwise acknowledge your existence. They are

@Drew,....yes there are real Scientologists. About 10 years ago I had the misfortune of falling in love with a scientologist, who actually purchased the e-meter and several books and tapes. This person lived in Maryland, and every year would go to the scientology center in Clearwater Fl. for about 3 months to get a

They openned a massive "church" in downtown St Paul. It's huge - city block big. It seems odd for this area. No one really knew what was going in there until it was done.

There was a very small "church" in my hometown. I knew one girl in high school who attended whatever it is they do when they do it.

Most members of scientology have been long term(since the 70's/80's) and the "new" members are usually children of these long term members. Sad thing is these people will be buying each other what you see above.

There's a Scientology...Church?...here in Portland, OR. But it's Portland. I'm sure to see a Santa with facial piercings and 8 reindeer-dressed gimps pulling his sled at some point today.

There's a Scientology centre in downtown Vancouver, too - I see it on my way to the crafty shop nearby. They always have the doors open, and a video playing in the window and loads of signs asking if you're interested in finding out about yourself.

I could have sworn it was started as a bet.

You can find a few Scientology dimwits. Look for one of their "NarCONon" fake drug treatment frauds and you'll find actual Scientology criminals running the thing.

There's a Scientology reading center a few blocks away from me in downtown Denver on the ground floor of an apartment tower. I can't recall ever seeing anyone coming in or going out but I assume some people work there and the rent has to be pretty high given the location.

Are there actually "real" scientologists? I do not know any and I don't know of any outside of Hollywood.

Ok, reading through this thread...I've determined that you actually are worse than a fanboy. You are someone that MUST choose a side and hate everyone else's opinions. You think that switching sides makes you less likely to be biased but it really seems it makes YOU more likely to be biased.

I like how when Microsoft pays, it's like a dirty under-the-table bribe that goes straight into some CEO's pocket as he cackles with his fingers arched.

Once again people fail to use common sense about this issue. MS is paying for the development of Tomb Raider just as much as Sony is paying for SFV.

I had to learn that being an ally meant being able to accept "Thanks but no thanks. We'll take it from here" as an appropriate response to my actions every so often.

Someone asked you an open and honest question in the spirit of learning, and your answer was to be rude. How is that productive for people genuinely interested in meaningful dialog?

Some POC will tell you that white allyship is not needed, but it is. If we want society to progress, members of the majority and minority have to work together to get towards that point. The first and most important rule to being a good ally is to listen. Listen and pay attention to what POC are saying and understand

I think the problem with that is that no matter what we do, someone says it's wrong. For every suggestion we get of something to do, someone else says that isn't the way to do it.
