Microsoft and Sony aren't the only companies running with huge losses these past quarters, Nintendo is struggling as well. They are also selling their console at a loss.

Sure, they were profitable before they were selling the WiiU at a loss. Now? Have you seen the quarterly reports?

Powerful? Yes. Expensive? No. Nintendo is selling hardware for $300 that is roughly compatible performance wise to what Microsoft is selling for $149. Not to mention Microsoft has rolled out its cell-phone like plans where you pay only $99 for the console up front. Microsoft could easily make a console 6-8 times as

"you've been told are the ones we should all pay attention to"

Fair enough, but I was not only referring to the new consoles as competition but also the existing ones. Bioshock, Final Fantasy, GTA, Crysis, and many more will be coming out in this WiiU "drought".

Thanks for the tips, but I think I will wait to see what happens at E3. There are rumors that even Valve might release a console. The minigames sound cool but I am having a blast with Far Cry 3 on the 360. Its hard to go back to minigames after that :P

According to your reasoning the next big music album release will sell billions of CD's! Who buys music online? History always repeats itself!

Roflol, well done.

The times have changed my friend, you shall see. I do hope, however, that Nintendo does as you presume and releases an onslaught of gaming goodness at E3.

Valid points, but you can't sell consoles based on hopes and dreams alone.

I feel the same way. Why didn't Nintendo launch this with a good 3D first party title? I am not going to buy a new console just to play a 2D game that I have already played in one form or another like 17 times.

Kinja!!! I meant to post this elsewhere, why can't I delete? :(

You can justify/excuse the lack of 3rd party support in 2013 all you want, but here is the clincher: the article above just confirmed there are very few reasons for somebody to drop $350 on a WiiU for the next six months. This means most people are not going to buy a WiiU in the first half of 2013.

Oh, sorry! ;)

Very true. On a related side note: Far Cry 3 is the first open world game I have ever played that didn't bore me immediately. It's the first time I actually wanted to stay and explore a completely open virtual world.

That was a fantastic read.

Except not free.

I wouldn't ask that question if I were you...The reviewers of Tetris will get very upset and post sarcastic comments under your reviews.

Just FYI, it is pretty much confirmed by various unnamed sources (read: Devs who can't talk) that the new consoles will be 6-8 times as powerful as the current ones. You might need some time to wrap your head around that figure.
