Yeah, it's kind of strange. Another red flag is if the person has never really been alone. I have seen people that were still married go to partner to partner because it seemed like they couldn't handle being alone. Sometimes a lot of learning goes on when one is alone.

I'm a bit similar to you, but older. If I were to give any advice from experience I would say try. Try to at least be social at that age even if you do not want to be. I was focused on some intense schooling (still am) but I wish I would've just made a better effort.

It's pretty much whatever you put in to anything is what you're going to get out. If someone doesn't want to date, that's fine. If they do, they should probably try hard to do so. I think the dude's friends should just give it a rest.
