Hmm, it seems the other way around to me. American soft drinks taste too sweet because of HFCS. I have had products like Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper and Mt Dew while in the U.S. and they were all too sweet an unappealing.

Glad I am not the only one who says this. The soda's with sugar taste better, yet I drink less of them then the hfcs sodas. I guess it quenches my thirst easier because I dont need to drink a 2nd or 3rd to be satisfied.

It sounds like you're making the decision on taste (which certainly has a psychological component). At least you're not trying to convince yourself it's healthier, right?

They seriously have all my jelly. Which is ironic because I then want to eat said jelly.

Yes, exactly. I don't know why people don't seem to be getting that. It's not that the advice is wrong, it's that it's not helpful advice on its own.

Nope—my now-fiancee and I decided in the first year of our relationship that we weren't going to deal with that. Instead, we make a romantic dinner at home with some sort of delicious Valentines-y dessert (usually chocolate covered strawberries, my favorite!) and exchange cards—that's it.

perfect. this is where i get to go all fox news and say,

So wait, you're saying you didn't read the entire article, but are arguing against what you THINK it MIGHT have been saying if you HAD read it? And then you didn't cite the sources you're using to argue against the thing you didn't fully read? Just trying to make sure I'm reading this right.

By the way, I really admire your time management skills. Commenting after only skimming the article, and limiting your googling to 60 seconds, must save a lot of time.

You could fit a scion xb in the back. It's more of an enormous mini Cooper. Or the box a Ford Taurus came in.

Correct. Better to be in a pile up so at least there are other people to eat.

Also, obvious is obvious that you'd pick a highway over a remote country road.

This cap is the reason I'm voting for these. The rest of the bottles (of which I have 3 of the remaining 4) are essentially the same: a container with a screw on lid. This cap is the first real innovation I've seen in water bottles in a long time. It makes it easy to drink on the go, and genuinely doesn't leak. I

Man do I understand this thing about rambling people. You just can't shut 'm up. You tell 'm to shut up and they go on yapping, this that and whatnot, and it never stops. Why I remember back in '82 when we drove the Swedish out of Kirkworth. That was the year the cows stopped shitting for a whole week, and the dogs

I totally did the same thing with Chris Sanders a few years back, but thankfully I've gotten to talk to him serveral times since and he's either forgotten, doesn't recognize me, or didn't care as much as I thought he did. So that's something to keep in mind. Don't shy away from Jonathan Coulton if you see him again.

Actually, something close to their letter, just, you know, more natural-sounding would probably work. "Hi Jonathan Coulton, it's so great to meet you. I'm a big fan of your work, especially [your favorite song]. [If you just saw him speak, a topic he brought up you found funny/interesting or agree/disagree with]. I

I'm sorry, did he really write that ten dollars buys enough gas for weeks' worth of driving? In what year, 1962? My sister has a Smart and a reasonable commute, and even she is spending around $20 on gas per week.

Ugh. Personal bugbear. I hate when people assume that satisfaction is the goal.
