I can carry on entire conversations in my sleep, to the point where my wife often has no idea whether I'm asleep or awake. There's a strange in-between state, as well, where I am waking up and still holding a conversation, and things get all muddled in between (my wife says that I suddenly start talking nonsense), as

Ah, I gotcha. That makes it clearer, thanks!

I thought Randall Munroe (xkcd.com) covered this pretty well, actually.

The technical terms are a little over my head (I'm no fancy, big-city evolutionary biologist)... when they say "basically identical" do they mean that these squids are similar to one another like all dogs are similar, like all dogs in the same breed are similar, or like a cloned dog is similar to its 'parent'?

Ohmygod I'm still sort of dizzy from watching that and trying to decode what the hell was going on...

It was definitely a style-of-the-time thing, too. Nowadays only major fantasy or sci-fi epics get scores like that. Back in the 80's, a lot more had bigger and broader scores. At least, it seems that way in my head, but as you say, memory is ephemeral =)

Maybe not completely, but they sure could take out a lot of it. So much that, given the relative size of the book, it would seem like completely.

"This is one of those movies that throws logic out the window right off the bat. And then, for good measure, the movie backs up and drives over logic a few times, crunching it into tiny fragments. Then the film proceeds to scoop up the logic chunks, and crush them into a fine powder, which it then snorts, causing a

I actually find this quite fascinating. Given the effect that the Black Plague had on the development of society (it basically ushered in the Enlightenment, folks), the more we learn about the time period when everyone suddenly began to question the very foundations of existence, the more prepared we'll be the next

Absorbing all of the sun's light would probably cause overheating and eventual breakdown in the plant's cellular membranes; like wearing a black shirt on a sunny day. /StarTrek

Not trashing! The music itself wasn't unpleasant or anything, but it was definitely overpowering and unnecessary in a lot of places, given the context of the film.

If it was even just a little more subtle, I think it would have been fine. The way it was mixed, though... it reminded me of Home Alone, and other family-friendly entertainment like that. It must have been an 80s thing.

You know, all those comments about music made me think... I just watched The Untouchables (Kevin Costner version) for the first time the other day (yeah, yeah, I know) and one of the things that really annoyed me was the totally unnecessary musical swells.

Math is fun! I didn't learn about the fun of e until just last year, actually (blame a high school for which math was not exactly a high priority) and all these Greek letter numbers are fascinating.

So, with two "friendly" adjectives, what kind of dictatorship or otherwise dystopian society is the People's Republic of Antartica? =)s

So you're saying the next 10-15 years would be a great time to move to Siberia, eh? Well, except for all the methane escaping from the permafrost. Hm. Maybe more like 50-75 years then to give it some time to thaw! =)

I'm impressed. Will probably watch more, in fact. Also, the opening was indeed fantastic!

I bet Prince Eric and Troy McClure would have had a lot to talk about.

It's as if the casting news itself is a spoiler.

Oh yeah; wasn't arguing, just offering up something I discovered recently. By contrast, I also got a copy of Horus Heresy for Christmas. We've played A:I several times. Still haven't deciphered the rules for Horus Heresy. =)
