I'm in favor in principal, except that I've seen so many lightweight Li-ion go up in smoke, and when they go it is usually in a spectacular fashion. The one that I saw last year was like a fireworks display and took out the wiring harness and ECU with it.

You'd be amazed how many people don't realize that you can restart the car in neutral in an automatic. They would try to restart in D, nothing would happen so then they figure they have to be in Park. Neutral is the mystery spot on the shifter that they never use.

Wouldn't the engine still be turning over if it is in drive? If so then there should be some power steering assist before GM went all electric since the mechanical power steering pump would still be getting turned over on the engine accessory drive. I've been in cars that have stalled out and never had any issues,

It would be pretty easy to calculate the dynamic "safe zone" on the fly using the current vehicle speed (available on the CAN bus).

Hand made seat doilies and corduroy door panels, sweet!

Heavy cream.

Pretty much by the end of the 60's unless your name is Arthur Fonzarelli :)

Ok, I'm in. "Hey honey, we're moving to Detroit!"

Just crazy that you could buy a house for $8K in this century. I remember seeing the deed for my first house and it was valued at $14000 in 1959, and that was a very modest starter house. Can I assume you are in an area where you don't feel like it's a 50/50 chance of getting shot when you take the dog for a walk?

Yup, it's too arcady for me. Very pretty, nice damage effects, decent sound, but garbage vehicle physics.

Terry is that you?

One pint of not too strong beer makes you fearless enough to take the risk needed for the good qualifying time without dulling the senses too much. It works great in Sim racing! Wouldn't recommend it in real life though, no reset button.

In many cars so long as the ignition is in the on position the airbags and sensors are powered. Problem with the GM's was that the key was turning back so the ignition was either in the off or accessory position, hence no power to airbag or controller. Also the controllers don't always make the best decisions

The private club tracks are for the rich, however car clubs rent the tracks and charge much more reasonable rates. Usually in the order of $200-$250 a day - even cheaper out west. See most of them on motorsportreg.com.

How do you get your teeth so white? Are you so fast that the stains are blown right off?

Been there done that, and I have no excuse since I grew up driving on that side of the road. A few years driving in the US totally reprogrammed my brain.

Not street legal in many states unless you manage to find some loop holes. No emissions equipment, no airbags, the harnesses aren't DOT (even though they are much safer).

Proof that women cause men stress, and stress causes obesity.

In the digital world this issue can still exist, but only when the shutter speed (exposure time) is so low that it is equal to or almost equal to the frame rate. The first generation GoPro's were a good example of this and when filming in poor light conditions such as a heavily overcast day they would exhibit this

On an analog display such as an old CRT the display was 60 fps, but you only saw half the content each field. The phosphorus glow and our brains help stitch it all together, the perception was better motion (I say was since CRT's are all but extinct). On a progressive display the interlaced output can be shown at
