Not really. As much as we fixate on Characters in fighting games, it’s the Match-ups that are the actually exciting thing about fighters. The first Marvel vs Capcom was almost purely recycled characters and that game is awesome ( I only say ‘almost purely’ because I don’t have time to research it right now).

I completely agree with you. It’s great that guys and gals like ajadragoon have had the time/financial capital to chase square down whatever crazy rabbit holes they’ve chosen to go down across different consoles, handhelds, mobile devices, coin ops, smartwatches, graphic novels, and coloring books.

Salt and Sanctuary and Dead Cells have both taught me to “wait and see” for anything claiming to be 2D Dark Souls. Salt and Sanctuary because proper balance and interesting gameplay are hard to achieve, Dead Cells because it is totally possible for a game like this to be fantastic.

i feel like it’s best to take these adaptations on their own merits, and enjoy them for what they are. films just can’t achieve things a medium like manga, comics, books, anime, etc. can, things are going to have be done differently. for example the live action attack on titan movies felt like a great kaiju battle…

A destiny like game WITHOUT the MMO aspect would be great. Rando users popping up in the world or populating the tower wasn’t nearly worth the terrible story structure that plauged destiny.
