Yeah I would say that the hunters in Halo 1 were kind of like mini-bosses, until I figured out about their soft spot in the back. But Halo 1 really didn't have any traditional bosses, and I loved that. I was so disappointed when Halo 2 ended with a boss.

I remember back in the day when Halo games didn't even have boss battles. Those were good times.
