I’m on a major MMO kick at the moment and keep glancing at Black Desert. Comments like these are what keep me away.

Just want to point out that the promotional screenshots are extremely misleading. The game looks gorgeous imo and has some fantasic visual design, but the graphics aren’t nearly as good as in those images.

Some of the ancillary material around the movie (there’s an in-universe “non-fiction” tie in book that’s actually quite good) suggests that they were trapped in some sort of parallel dimension or illusory plane. It’s mentioned for example that the terrain seen in the tapes doesn’t actually match any location they…

I spend large amounts of time in bed due to disability. After mostly not being able to use my PC very much (I can’t sit at a desk for long), I bought one of these monitor arms and clamped it to the end of my bed. It’s an uppy-downy hospital bed with a wide metal bar at the end that’s just the right size to let the arm…

I’ve been thinking of getting back into it. I’ve enjoyed Apex but sometimes I don’t want to have to deal with team mates.

Everyone complains about benefits fraud and poor people supposedly cheating the system, but when rich corporations do it it’s just a feature of doing business.

Some of these seem really weird. Like the Marvel offerings (which has to be the biggest draw Disney has). Captain Marvel makes sense since it’s recent and popular, Iron Man makes sense because nostalgia, but...Iron Man 3, but not 2? The Dark World is the only Thor movie? And nothing else?

I just used cheat engine to halve enemy damage. It let me get through way more of the game than I would have otherwise and still felt like a decent challenge.

I would also highly recommend RahXephon, which starts out blatently ripping off Evangelion but ends up (imo) turning into in its own distinct entity, and one that I in some respects like more. It’s also not nearly as bleak and depressing as Eva, so if you found Evangelion hard to stomach than this might be more…

What is with the facial expression Kevin Smith is making in that first picture? He seems to do it in all of his press photos, and I’ve seen numerous late 30s/early 40s nerd guys making that face in their twitter avatars. Is this some sort of cultural thing my millenial self isn’t getting?

I’m a huge fan of Detention and was looking forward to playing Devotion soon. I hope they can move past this.

I was born in New York and moved to Ireland at the age of seven. For a long time, I assumed I would eventually return to the US for at least a while.

This game’s microtransactions are better than most (hooray for no duplicates, fuck off Overwatch), but loot boxes are still exploitative garbage. Just let us buy what we want directly.

You can also mark enemy locations on PC by pressing F, which I find easier to do than double pressing middle mouse.
