There’s no way the market for this is big enough that they’re expecting to make a profit from it. Companies so rarely do something like this that won’t make them money, so it’s really cool to see Microsoft taking the plunge.

I get the feeling they think a regular Star Fox game (ie like the first two and 64) might be considered too simplistic by a wider audience. They might have some sales data to back that up—maybe the 3DS version didn’t move as much as they wanted. Between Star Fox Adventures, all the wierd stuff tacked on for Armada and…
Started with Yanny, but I managed to be able to hear either one after listening to it a few times. Turn the sound up high, the “Laurel” is lower pitched. I might be wrong, but it also seems like “Laurel” is clearer and easier to hear the second time.
My immediate reaction to this is that it isn’t what I wanted to see Retro make next, but on the other hand I’m not actually sure what I wanted from them. I would have said Metroid Prime 4, but we already know that’s coming from someone else.
I want a version of this with the audio from the Ed and Bob goats.
From the start, I’ve been of the opinion that a prequel about Dutch’s gang was the least interesting direction to go in.
Make a Calvin and Hobbes one and I’m there.
This is the sort of twist on the formula I want to see more of. Particularly, giving players a possible incentive to not immediately kill each other. I’d love a battle royale game that somehow incentivises forming temporary alliances.
My only problem with the Elsie theory is that if she was controlling them, surely she’d reprogram them to speak English so they could actually communicate to guests that they’re friendly? That would make it a lot easier for them to rescue people.
I don’t get Nintendo’s stigniness with their massive back-catalogue. Getting NES games doesn’t appeal to me at all, but if the games were from all of their past consoles (or whichever ones would be easiest/most cost-effective to port to Switch), I’d pony up for that. In fact I’d pay significantly more that service on…
When I read things like this, I feel like I’m peering into an alien world.
I read the book ages ago and had forgotten a lot of it. I was assuming all fertile women were handmaids, but if they’re “fallen” women (or whatever) then that explains why they’re treated so badly.
I’m kind of jealous of all these people talking about how much the ending affected them. As soon as Black Panther started disintegrating, I thought “Oh, none of this is going to stick” and basically checked out for the rest of it. It’s really hard to care about any of those characters dying when you know full well…
I’m really hoping Nintendo is entering a sustained tranquil period, rather than another spike followed by a downturn.
So in America, does “resisting arrest” just mean “getting arrested”? It seems like the police will charge you with that if they have any difficulty at all in cuffing you and dragging you off.
My problem with red zones is that they’re not dangerous enough. You can circumvent them by just going inside, and even if you get caught out in the open, the chances of getting hit are really low.

I’m not going to sit here and play The Top 5 Characters You Expect To Die, because, through pretty obvious interviews and educated guesses,
I think it ties into the implicit mindset that internet harassment is just this thing that occurs naturally online, with no input from actual humans. People treat it like a natural disaster, as though it’s a hurricane or an earthquake: something we can’t stop, only react to.
I think they lost a lot of people by having distinctive characters like a hero shooter, but then insisting the game isn’t a hero shooter (which is apparently accurate).
