Bethesda is known for giving developers a lot of freedom— when Arkane first started working on Dishonoured it was completely different, but they took a hands-off approach and let the devs completely change the game’s style. It’s very likely that this game’s direction was driven by Arkane austin, not Bethesda.
I wish this was coming out at a less busy time for me. I won’t have time for games again until the end of the month, which is right around when Deus Ex comes out.
If you want to blame someone for the game not being like that initial announcement, blame the developers, not Bethesda.
