If it's wrong, I don't want to be right.

I have theory that this is part of why pop culture these days is so mediocre. How many people reach adulthood without learning how to handle criticism? Constructive criticism is a great gift to creative people who know how to use it. It's sometimes hard to deal with and it can sometimes hard not to take it

I think another part of it is that the quality of clothing now tends to be pretty flimsy. Even those who of us who do know how to repair and repurpose things are likely to only put in so much time when a particular clothing item is utterly shit, and you can easily and cheaply replace it.

We've always been exceptionally matter of fact with our kid. So far, the only problem was when she was about three and went through a period of fascination with identifying cars. Walking across a parking lot, she loudly had to pipe up in excitement, "VOLVO! HEY, I'VE GOT ONE OF THOSE!" I had to quietly clarify

I can go one worse. My sister was friends with a set of identical twins who had first names that rhymed, as well as rhymed with their last name. It was gaggingly "cute".

My jeans have snags from multiple housecats sitting on my lap and kneading/smurgling my leg. I'll take my rip-off fashion statement.

Especially when you consider how the church recently threw Brigham Young under the bus in regards to black men and the priesthood.

Yeah. It's been interesting to watch some of the backpedaling.

The RLDS faith aka "Community of Christ" has theologically changed so much that it's really different than the Mormon church. It wouldn't be much different than her wandering into almost any other protestant church.
