When I'm downshifting, I skip gears. I chalk it up to laziness, and never actually owning a car with a manual transmission. Neutral + braking + going into whatever gear I need always seemed to work for me...

The issue is obtaining a car to practice with - I'd rather not buy a Mazda2 just to learn to drive stick.

I have a 2011 MBA, a new iPad, and an iPhone 4S. I got the iPad last, and it's the least used. Anything I do on my iPad, I'm used to doing it on either my MacBook or iPhone. Just food for thought.
