For emulation it is a beast! I haven't tried NeoGeo and stuff but is seems to be pretty good at it!

You have to mimic the hardware first then the software can be emulated on. Just imagine emulating a PS3 on a hight end PC, at this time it is impossible due to architecture. Cell and X86/x64 are not really compatible.

Mmmm, backward compatibility is more an hardware issue than plain add-ons. To emulate and hardware is insanely costly is term of performance. You have to make choices.

I think it depends what is the master build and which port was sent to. If you compare Bayonetta, I know for sure it was a XBox360 build that was ported to PS3 by SEGA: the XBox360 is running flawlessly without any FPS drop and the PS3 was blurred as hell and did not run at a stable FPS.

I am really surprised how fast my PC can run Far Cry 3 on Ultra (MSAAx8) with a GTX 660 ti. With VSync off, I can get around 80 FPS! So I put it it at 1 so it is caped to 60, without any drop whatsoever. That really nice and we'll optimized it seem so!

I currently own a PS3, 3DS and a Vita (which is unopened from the day it came out.). I already pre-ordered a PS4 and I recently bought a 1.2k$ PC (i7 3770k, 660ti, etc, etc). So I think I'll stay with that. I've never been a Xbox fan so.
