But remember, Terra eventually does find love in Thamasa after the world ends with the kids that lost their parents by Kefka's beam. But to your point, yes that was a bit disconcerting at times. I too grimace over the "damsel in distress" trope, but in some cases, it works. Just like when Celes thought that

RIGHT?! Oh my god... those books were like kiddy cocaine for me. It was ridiculous.

D'aww... well welcome to Kotaku!

I honestly think that the iOS / Android "remake" was just a test run, to see how many people were still interested in a remake of the game. It's weird because they just flat out remade FFIV, with excellent results.

When I was a kid I used to have an unhealthy obsession with collecting pieces of a set. Therefore, I had to have every single Goosebumps book that was released, or else I would raise hell. My mom bought them for me because even though they were, as she so lovingly called them, "stupid books for stupid kids", I ate

Yes, though I sometimes feel that the loss outweighs the gain, I wouldn't trade my memories with my father for anything in the world, and I certainly wouldn't trade the memories I'm making with my boys either. :)

Absolutely not.

I think that goes back to what I said about one man's trash is another man's treasure. I think the subjectivity of wasted time rests solely with the person spending said time. One of my twin boys likes to run in circles opposite the ceiling fan in our den. Do I think it's the silliest thing I've ever seen?

Hah, yeah, sorry I should have clarified before. My apologies.

Lightning Returns is a good game (with the 10 hours I've put into it anyway), but the thing that will really turn gamers off is the time constraint. I bought the guide with the game, and looking through the guide while playing the game really irritates me. If I miss something during a certain timeframe in the game

Holy shit, that's impressive. It took me 75 hours to platinum XIII-2 and I think it took me two months to beat Dragon's Dogma. Hats off to you!

I think it's because it was the first game (in my opinion) to really draw on the dialogue and not necessarily the graphical representation. You can't really do much with 16bit graphics, but somehow the soundtrack is still one of the best that I've ever heard and the storylines are almost untouched in terms of depth

Thank you, I always try to include a TL;DR version for when I know my posts are going to be ridiculously long. :)

Thank you. Again I'm sorry for the length, I felt like I was deviating from the main point so I tried to make it as relevant as possible.

Well you just have to let me know when you need a slight ego boost, and I'm here for you. :)

Heh... Doc, you are one of my favorite commenters on here. Just wanted you to know. :)

Oh man... Jason, please bear with me here.

My father's name is Edgar. I loved him to death, and he actually passed away last year. He gave me something that I would never ever lose, and that was the courage to be myself. (This has a relevance to your article, so hear me out.)

Good knowledge! I shall invest in that then to see what it's like.

Aww... <3

Oh no, I'm not disputing his talent or accolades in the video game world. That much is irrefutable. I just don't really like him as a person. There is a way to differentiate the two entities (professional vs personal).
