Counterpoint: NO.
NBC’s hyper-jingoism and constant “US as the underdog” coverage (even though we are the favorite in 70% of the events) makes me actively root against the US in every event.
After these tragic, brutal acts of killing, when will the muslim police community speak out against the radical, hateful elements in their community?
That’s fucked up. You should contact your local election board and let them know of the discrepancy.
So they were hired to do a job that they then refused to do because some black women said something they disagreed with? Sounds like what they do on their day job, too.
It is almost like the police officers and their families should have the MOST empathy for the BLM position (worrying about a loved one coming home safely) but no. This is a rotten statement by a rotten man representing a rotten position. I reeeeeeally hope that some decent officers come out in support of the position…
Yes!!! I just lost myself a good bunch of wack ass ignorant redneck Facebook 'friends' I do not miss, by posting something very similar. Police officers SWEAR AN OATH to protect and serve the public. All of us, not the ones that look like them and/or are docile and compliant. You are literally signing up to put your…
Right. Like, cops and their families VOLUNTARILY place themselves in that position. They are PAID in exchange for going to work. When officers are killed or wounded in the line of duty, they and/or their families receive insurance proceeds meant to compensate them for their sacrifice.
It boggles the mind, doesn’t it? We’re asked to consider their perspective, but the ones who’ve chosen law enforcement as their profession are stubbornly myopic!
Hey, those cops are putting their lives on the line to protect their communities! They shouldn’t have to put up with reasonable demands to respect black people!
For fucks sake. I am trying very hard to relate to law enforcement perspective, but I am quite tired of being told to think about how their families feel not knowing if their loved ones will come back after work, and the stress that creates. It amazes me that they demand this while failing to understand how black…
Except for the subset of country songs that are written purely for father daughter wedding dances and they are all super gross and cheesy.
If you think the couple’s first dance is bad, it has nothing on the first dance with the parent (like bride with dad). Trying to pick music for that is a dreadful reminder that every single song ever is about fucking. Every. Single. Song.
It was the ‘60s Claire character’s wimpy ineffectual manner that really annoyed me on the show. The book portrays Claire as strong and engaged, even when she is telling Brianna and Roger the true story of her past with Jamie, but the TV Claire just cringes and whimpers and seems timid and afraid. Gack.
For the love of God, and all that is holy, please, please, PLEASE recast Brianna’s role with a different actor.
Absolutely! But, at the end of the day, this is Jamie and Claire’s love story. She’s basically been mourning him for 20 years, with a daily reminder of him (much mention of how much Bri is like him) and suddenly to find out he survived? That revelation kinda sticks in my craw since it was different in the books.…
That’s one thing that bugs me a liiiittle bit about the books (**SORRY, SORT OF SPOILERS FOR NON-READERS**)... They act like she’s a super-amazing engineering expert, when clearly she only had time to just-barely complete an undergraduate degree in Engineering (given her age, and the fact that she started out studying…
I haven’t watched the finale yet and am actually a couple of episodes behind. (Spoilers don’t seem to bother me with this show cause it’s a delight to watch regardless)
Was there not a woman with the ability to act available to play Brianna? Really took me out of what was otherwise As beautiful and chilling episode .
