It's so common, and so tiresome. My guess would be that it's an attempt to pander to the desire of young girls to think that they're super mature and totally on a peerdom level with adults, because it shows up constantly in fanfic written by girls that age too, but I wish people would stop and think about the bigger

Under no circumstances will I eat my neeps. Everyone has to draw a line somewhere, and Baldric food is mine.

So, you're going to ignore all the comments from women who object to the whole rape-as-character development issue and just carry on being condescending. Again, it figures.

She'd find a way to put it in a cake, wouldn't she? Ew.

Yep. I spent part of my childhood in the Middle East - you want to talk high fat sugary dessert items? I can eat my own body weight in traditional rice pudding. But the concoction above? No. That sandwich is an abomination.

So basically you read the comments and you still don't really understand what the problem is. Figures.

That raised my eyebrows too, and I was right in the prime age for that sort of creepy socialisation of young girls to meekly accept sexual interest from predatory older men when I read it.

Even if you don't like Stewart (I'm neutral, no strong feelings one way or the other), she actually is an example of a former child star who's made the transition to adult acting work without going spectacularly off the rails. A bit of profanity that annoyed a few people is really the worst trouble she's gotten

I have to wonder how wolfboy is rationalising all this in his head. Thank God he's not a method actor.

You could try reading the rest of the comments, wherein the problem is explained. I'm not going to reiterate it for you.

Yes.

It's one of the most effective divide and conquer tactics sexists have ever come up with, and it makes me sad to see smart women falling for it.

One of the main points of origin for video games is Japan. Your argument is ridiculous.

The whole conversation about huge boobs in games signalling sexism really is odd to observe as a busty woman. In some ways I agree - if that's the only body type you see in games and the focus is on making the boobs bounce enticingly then yeah, that's sexist - but the opposing idea that small boobs signal a character

OK, now you've lost me. Backing away slowly from the walking stereotype of what Fox News thinks a feminist looks like...

I have a long history of dating men who turn into gooey, squealing piles of mush at the sight of a cat.

Nope! There's a guy who lives near me with a Husky, and I have to exercise a lot of self-restraint to prevent myself from running over and attempting to snuggle that dog every time I see him. The owner seems to find this hilarious, since so many people do find the dog a bit scary.

I see one of these at the coffee shop! I love regular size huskies, but the tiny ones are adorable too.

In my neighborhood lives the biggest chow that I have ever seen. I love dogs, particularly big dogs, but I have to admit that the first time I saw that dog, when I was getting off the bus and nearly walked right into him/landed on top of him, I definitely took a wary step back.

If I was able to have a dog it would be either some sort of sled dog (Husky, Malamute, etc) or a Newfie, so I guess I'm manly too. Not sure how we're going to get the whole father thing to work, but hey, maybe some day science will find a way to make ovaries produce sperm.
