Regarding my friend Mr. Baruth, I don't necessarily agree with him that the new Z06 is less hardcore. Regarding the comments here, though, I guess that some self-deprecation is too subtle for some people.

I park for free on the street as close to the Cobo show floor as the roof is. The trick is to get downtown early enough.

If you keep a kosher diet: Sara's Deli in the Jewish Community Center in Oak Park has great soups and sandwiches. The best deli meats are in the midwest. Dave's Gourmet Burger, also in Oak Park, has good food and it's run by great people. If you want dairy or vegetarian, Jersusalem Pizza in Southfield is very good.

The Piquette Avenue Ford Factory, where the Model T was developed and first built, is definitely worth a visit, but it's only open to the public from April to October. If you're in town for the NAIAS media preview, if you call the museum, they'll probably give you media access.
