It was better without romance between the two leads so i’m glad the writers didn’t do it. there are few to no shows where the two mains are just good friends and remain that way, so it was refreshing. i viewed them as co-leads myself. shame writers didn’t feel the same

Only some people wanted a romance. A lot of others just liked the idea that two people can work together, respect each other and NOT devolve into the typical romance.

Nicole was not the lead that they wanted(This was Tom’s show), so they tried to downplay her chemistry with Tom and added every barrier they could in season 2 and 3 till she was not even important in the episodes plots... 

I’m convinced that they thought their premise was so bastshit that they’d never get a second season, so planned out the first and nothing more...and when they got renewed they didn’t have a frigging clue what to do with it.

I was barely hanging in there when the news of Beharie being dumped hit the internet, didn’t even bother finishing the season after that. Fuck the writers with a rusty garden weasel for wasting a great character and great chemistry. 

I hate to correct you, but I’m pretty sure it was canceled after one season. Like Heroes.
