I just feel bad for the athletes, especially the folks in sports like track and field where this is their best and only chance of making a national impression and snagging that Wheaties box front. This is like watching veal get made.

Well, of the first 14 actors listed on IMDB, nine are women, so I would call that “plenty of women.” I’m not sure where or how you think I insulted Florence Kasumba and Mayling Ng unless your position is that they are so awesome that they should each count triple when calculating how ethnically diverse this movie is.

I took your challenge and went to the IMDB cast list. Two of the named characters in this movie are women of color. One actor near the top of the cast list has a Middle Eastern name, but IMDB doesn’t say what character he is playing. That’s it for actors of color until you get to the bottom of IMDB’s cast list where…

“Plenty”= two Amazons with names and a Middle Eastern guy whose character hasn’t been named yet but appears toward the top of the cast list, plus “first Turkish soldier,” “Turkish slave,” etc.
