The problem is that the environment is pishing you to do more than you think you are capable of and since the average person is not a fitness expert and probably has very little awareness of form they probably won't know that they are getting close to injuring themselves until it has already happened.

I think the fanboyism in this case stems from peopplpe who can abide casual games and those who can't. Its the same people who got real made the game more accessible to casual players.
