Another Trump EPA speciality: the glider kit disaster. Best thing we could do for the country is clean up that old equipment, and yet they made it easier to run without regulation. Hate to just sound political but that was absolutely terrible stuff. An old 6v92 is a tough engine but completely out-of-date according to

Nice, you really gave this one an informed effort.

Only one of the most well-respected and talented car journalists alive, so I’d be a little careful... Not to mention that writing for a mass audience has its own necessary elisions and simplifications.

Improvement.

You are totally correct, except the 8C resists any critique regarding aesthetics because it remains....so beautiful.

The ZHP wheels are 18", and the CSL 19" wheels only fit the flared M3 bodies. They won’t fit a standard 3-series without some fairly complicated math, hence a lot of the replicas are 18"–and even those run the risk of rubbing if they’re not set up properly.

It really is a bleak future. I bought my E46 a couple years ago and have spent the better part of two years de-modifying it towards stock. The CSL-knockoff 18s that were the wrong offset and rubbed on every ditch and descent were a particular favorite. I don’t even know how people drive cars in such condition thinking

Great post. These comments are horrifying. The sheer vitriol of many people here is astounding, especially given how incredibly misinformed they are. This is a company which advertised itself as providing a full-time job–hence the class action suits in California, which Uber lost. Really despicable to see this kind of

Generally, you’re right. But there are some medallion owners who are owner-operators, completely middle-class guys, who saved up or took out loans to buy medallions for their personal vehicles. Those guys are basically innocent in this–there are a fair number of them in New York–and they do deserve some sort of

Unfortunately that is very out of date and represents the brief bubble that encouraged so many drivers to join, and quickly left them scrambling. It also leaves out the fact that so many drivers bought their own cars as a result of joining Uber. I did a little digging and found one stat that said 45% of taxi/rideshare

Favorite comment I’ve read in a while. I snorted a few times, and completely agree.

Real, real money is matching the Tigers to the car and calipers.

You’re right, the policy is incredibly stupid. But he’s talking about Estates (wagons), and I think everybody of every party can get behind that.

From the side, without the stripes, I could nearly have survived. The interior, the badging, the trunk-and-not-fender stripe--farewell, friends.

The ICE point you’re right to point out, but the subway affects 5/5 of the city responsible for the state’s economic center and a slight majority of its tax revenue. It’s a relevant thing to focus on.

Not really. I disabled driver assist after a 5-hour drive in an X4 where I found that the system had no idea how to work with a narrow highway. Going around cars that had drifted in their lanes frequently meant moving from the dead center of the lane, simply because it’s poor form to take off somebody’s mirror when

I had the same thing at a Hertz in Barcelona. Ticked off 3-series or similar (I’m thinking A4 or C-class at best, at worst Insignia, etc.), manual trans. Arrive and they’ve “upgraded” me to an auto X4 and given away all the other cars on the lot. Existentially unhappy, and specifically miserable trying to get through

You sound fun.
