The prices can only be as high as people are willing to pay. Given that Apple has competition for every product they make, this is not a monopoly. Like somebody else mentioned here, there is room for Apple stores and Beat Buy and all the rest of the cell phone stores.

They are very good at moving THEIR stuff. Also it works great if you are the owner.

They keep “reviewing” the agreement, i.e. lowering the price they pay you, until you have no choice but to shut down your local operations and manufacture somewhere else, usually China. That is after you lower you profit margin, and laid off a big part of your staff in order to meet their new target price.

Do you pay more for a pair of shoes if you buy them from, let’s say the Nike or Adidas store vs. buying them at a department store or shoe store?

We used to sell our product at Walmart, and their business practices are much, much worst than the retailers you just mentioned. Besides Walmart is way bigger than these companies.
